Looking for a narrowed, complete BJ beam for my 66. How narrow can you go before mods. are required ? 2,3,4? Any body know of any around ?
How much work is it to re & re ?

Thanks
Todd

Re and Re is about 4 hours if all goes well and you have good tools.

2" is a non body mod narrowed beam and seems to work well ( it's what I have )

Cost? Ask Chris/Shane at acvw.net

4" is the absolute max without body mods.

Guy in Tacoma selling the beams outright...

FYI - there was a short in the supply of CB Perf 2" BJ beams.  all distributors were out.  that was a few weeks ago - so they might have them now.

How narrow do you want to go? I think James is right. A 2" inch narrow is a bolt in. 3" might need some shock tower clearancing and body mods. 4" I think you have to cut the shock towers off. The narrower you go the worse the handling. I've got a beam with adjusters in it that I would be willing to narrow for you. Let me know. I can have it done ASAP. Only take me about an hour. You could install it by the end of the weekend. You will also need to narrow the tie rods and torsion bars. The tie rods can be cut and tapped. Pretty easy. Someone here might have a tap to borrow. The torsion bars are a little harder. They need to be cut and re dimpled. They're spring steel so they are a little harder to drill than mild steel. My two cents. Someone else might chime in.

I have the proper tap to do the tie-rods but with a 2" you can usually get away with just turning the ends all the way in.

The spring steel is a bitch, goto princessauto and buy 4 new 5/8 bits, you will need one for each dimple....

its not that you dont need shocks, its just that you will not be able to use them.
