The toaster is a vintage Morphy Richardson. My grandparents had one that died and was tossed. My aunt had one and promised it to me, but also to a cousin in Alberta too. He got it, so I just bought that one on eBay and did a full restoration on it. Its now in daily use. Its dated 1949. Works way better than any modern POS. A couple of weeks ago an eBay'r from New West tried to sell 5 of them in one auction. No bids starting at $7.50. Its just too bad mine doesn't have any family lineage.
I got another one and restored it, then gave it to Alan for a wedding present. But I don't think Alan is big into toast.
