Emerg Brake Trouble
« on: September 23, 2010, 09:58:46 PM »
Should the e-brake cable be compatible with the year of the pan? Is that correct, or can you customise/buy one for that particular year? My trouble is .....and this has happened to me 3X. I pull it up not to hard but you can tell I perhap's overextend it, and then it's disconnected. What could be the problem? I am so tired of carrying those heavy aircraft chalk's around.....lol. My pan is a 1956 and so is the car...  Thank's for your help.

I thought it might be missing something because there was alot of tension on it. Perhap's a missing retainer. I wanted to be sure before I replaced the whole cable. My other bug I had was a different year. I wasn't sure about a 56'. I don't usually go on the part's websites until I have the proper diagnosis. Thank's for the link.
