I have only had a few hours to work on the bus the last week so here is a small update.
The first pic is of the front brakes, I had restored the brakes using NOS wheel cylinders,Wheel bearings and Mintex Gold brake shoes.........But it looks like i will now change up to the Porsche 944 vented brakes. The brakes on one side were removed to test fit the new rotors and wheel fitment.

Next is where i have come to a cross road and am not sure what way i will go.
I had decided to use a late 002 bus trans and a custom flywheel mated to the 911 motor but then came along a 915.
For those who don't know a 915 is a mid year 5 speed trans from a 911 (this came from the same car as the motor. With this comes the headache of building custom trans mounts, clutch cables, shift rods and 911 shifter.
The bonus is a 5th gear, perfect match and strength.

Sunday was touch up day, I painted the inner rocker where the repair was done as well as the 911 shroud. The shroud is now body color and looks much better that the orig green.
