Window Regulator Help

the glass has slipped off the window track on the drivers door,i have taken the panel off and put the glass back in the channel but it is fairly hard and no longer grips the inside of the channel so it slides out when the window is rolled back down the window stays up and the channel goes down.
can i spray an adhesive int eh channel to hold the window??
any help would be good as this in my dailey driver

when i took apart my 56 doors, the channels were clamped tight around the bottom of the glass. i had to gently pry the channels back to remove the glass.

maybe try to lightly press the channels tighter together so they grip the glass better. or adhesive sounds like it may work.
