Title: How Tight Is To Tight?
Post by: James Buchan on June 24, 2003, 04:13:18 PM
I am installing urethane replacement bushings in my beam and they are mighty tight. How much is to much? Also have you heard of drilling them to allow grease to pass to the outside of the bearing?

Hi James, The bushings you are talking about can be very tight and sometimes even need to be machined, rare but true. Yes once you have them in the beam it is a good idea to drill thru the bushing so when the grease nipple is installed it will allow grease into the control arm. If you find the bushings to tight, a light sanding will sometimes do the trick.

Ok cool, I thought that was the case, just never had to install them before.
