Off Topic - Went to a rodeo today

Not your ordinary rodeo with the bulls and horses. This is a logger rodeo, held in Deming (east of Bellingham). It's a speed competition for the loggers (tree fellers). This is an annual charity event to raise money to help out the families of loggers that were injured or killed in the last few years.

These first two guys are the fastest pole climbers in the world. They climb to the top of a 90 foot pole and back down in about 20 seconds.

Here is the rodeo clown on top of the 90 foot pole. He was juggling, dancing, standing on his head. At the end it looked like he was falling but he was connected to a zip line.

This was one of the senior members of the professional logger circuit. He lives in the area but travels all over competing. The axe is almost sharp enough to shave with. Each swing, he buried it at least 2" into the hardwood.

If you need to cut some wood in a hurry, this is what you need. It is a Buick V8 with a chain hooked up to the crank shaft by way of a 10:1 reduction gear (chains running at near 40,000 rpm)

A couple of the ladies running a Harley chainsaw.
