Deck Height Question
« on: July 27, 2006, 12:54:03 AM »
Running 0 deck with a .060 copperhead gasket or using 4 barrel spacers to give .060 deck height?  If I run with the copperhead, there is still 3 shims under the barrel.

Thoughts?

I havn't used a copper head gasket since the 90's...no problems here, I use permatex copper coat gasket on the cylinder to head surface in a very thin coat....not high heat copper silicone.  I would just stack up the barrell spacers to get .060 deck and leave it.  Some swear by using a copper gasket though,   I have never had a problem by not using one.

By my estimations, I have to run about  0.60 to stay in the mid 9's for compression.
