Title: New Member, New Ghia.... in need of restoration....
Post by: DunbarGhia on February 15, 2011, 01:16:00 PM

Good afternoon,

My wife and I love our 1968 Karmann Ghia. She is a hobby car, not a Barrett Jackson special, however she requires extensive rust restoration and we were hoping we had come to the correct place for advice.

Our preference is to find someone skilled with Ghias rather than take her to a body shop for top-line repair.

California Autoparts in Langley suggested we post here.

We live in Vancouver, preference would be to find someone quite local with Ghia experience.........

In addition to body and frame rust repair; she will then need to be repainted, and she could use a number of new knobs and accessories for her interior; as well as new seats, front and back.

We started with the mechanical, and she is air-cared and great on the road; now it's time to make her beautiful again from the rust repair inside and out, right down to the finer points such as her dials, knobs, handles, seats....

Any one?  Suggestions?  Recommendations?

Your time is much appreciated,

Very best

David & Michelle
