Building New Engine
« on: March 28, 2007, 06:15:28 PM »
Hey everyone

I currently have 2 engines and want to build a 1914 fun engine, and well maybe a nice stock 1600 when the 1914 decides its had enough.
So what I'm wondering is any tips for parts to use.

Right now both engines are close to stock, I've got things like headers, 009 distributor, dual kadrons, 1.5:1 ratio rockers.  Don't know if I should keep them or not.

I was thinking of going for a 1914, this is a daily driver, but my commute from work/home is well none, I live on the same property, so its more of a fun car for the moment.  That being said I was thinking of maybe going with a larger cam for some extra power.

So, seeing as I've never actually built an engine before I'm not quite sure exactly where to start, I can rip this thing apart and spend money aimlessly but that wouldn't be good.  Also, money is not a main concern, if I can't afford something I really should get, I'll save up until I can.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone
-Eric

Dude!
Off topic but I'm building a very similar as described engine. You should give me a call back so maybe I can reclaim my torque wrench and socket :P
If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?
