I took my bumper off of my 63 to do some work on my motor, drove it to work one day an a cop pulled me over and told me I had to put it back  on...:)  If you are ever in Nanaimo I have a repop rear euro blade and some lap seap belts you can have if you like.

The law says you need bumpers.  Both ends.
The law says you need 2 rear view mirrors.  The one in the middle of the windshield counts as one.  Why would you not want one on the outside?

i've ran no bumpers for years and have never had any police issues. i've also ran open headers (dual zoomies, or "street tubes" as bugpack called them) for even longer. the most hassle i've had at roadblocks is the question "when are you gonna paint it?", so i guess it depends on the cop

As the years go on, getting away without bumpers gets easier.  Today's youngster cops aren't familiar with cars like ours with bumpers that are supposed to extend from the body like ours.
