Winter Storing a Vw

What are your thoughts on storing a Vw for the winter? Any tips such as putting the car on jack stands etc

although i've not done it.. yet, I read to put plastic vapour barrier underneath to stop moisture from migrating upwards.

before i had a shop, i just tarped them off and left em as is. no oil  change, no jack stands, no nuthin'. now that my kafers spend all their time in my heated shop, they just get denied a tarp. i figured the first 40 years haven't hurt them, why would the next 40?

since i've been driving, once the insurance ran out, i park 'em. usually i give them a tarp, sometimes i don't. then after x-mas i run them up for 20 minutes, then back to bed, and in spring, when i insure them, oil change and grease job and back on the road. hasn't let me down yet! my 2 cents...

Don't just throw a tarp over it unless you want damaged paint! you need a way to get rid of the condensation.Try to get one of those easy up tent things if you can't store it indoors.

i've picked up a dehumidifier to put in the garage too, other cars come in and out from the rains... can't hurt!

highly recommend a fuel stabilizer. todays fuel is nasty stuff after a while, also a full tank to limit rust formation.

I've seen more than one garage with ultrasonic pest control device, scares off mice etc,  Nothing worse than a headliner full of squirrel nest, oh and the smell  is nasty. Probably not the biggest problem in the city but out in the boonies it's a real problem come winter.  I use an electronic device but the old method is to use mothballs ...thing is they stink..Baaad!  Kitty cats another option.
